久しぶりにWindows Updateの作業を行った際に発生したエラー0x80246013の症状と対処法(解決策)を忘れないようにメモしておきます。

I will make a note of the symptoms and workarounds (how to fix) of the error 0x80246013 that occurred when I worked on Windows Update for the first time in a while.

サーバ環境 Server infrastructure

インフラ : さくらのクラウドサーバー
OS : Windows Server 2012 R2
CPU : 2core
MEM : 4GB
Strage : SSD100GB
自社制作のVBアプリの常駐稼動と、そのアプリが生成したデータをAPI配信用のIISのためのWindowsサーバーです。

It is a Windows server for IIS for resident operation of in-house VB applications and API delivery of data generated by the applications.

エラー内容(症状) Error Detail

エラー内容(症状)は至ってシンプルWindows Update中に下記画像の様なエラーが発生した。

エラーコードは「0x80246013」です。
エーラ詳細は下記の通りです。

エラー対処法(解決策) How to Fix (Solved)

原因を調べてみると、更新プログラムがダウンロードされた日から、インストールをする日まで1 ケ月以上の日時が経ったため、エラー0x80246013で更新プログラムのインストールに失敗した様です。

After investigating the cause, it seems that the installation of the update failed with error 0x80246013 because more than one month had passed since the date the update was downloaded until the date of installation.

このサーバーの自動更新の設定は [3 -自動ダウンロードしインストールを通知] としていました。
そしてWindows Updateの作業を数か月さぼっていました。これが原因ですね。

The automatic update settings for this server were set to “3 – Automatically download and notify to install.”
And I skipped working on Windows Update for months. This is the reason.

エラー対処法(解決策)は簡単で「再試行」を実施すると、自動的に再度更新プログラムをダウンロードして、インストールが実行されます。

How to fix is simple, and if you execute “Retry”, the update program will be automatically downloaded again and the installation will be executed.
